Hydro cutting — spark-free waterjet cold cutting
Dezu cuts steel and concrete with ultra high pressure water — no flame, no spark, no heat-affected zone — so tanks, pipelines, and structures in hydrocarbon service can be opened safely while the facility keeps running. Proven on a crude oil tank door-sheet cut in Guam, delivered with the NLB equipment line Dezu distributes.
What is hydro cutting and why is it called cold cutting?
Hydro cutting slices steel and concrete with an ultra high pressure water stream, usually carrying abrasive, at ambient temperature. There is no flame, no spark, and no heat-affected zone — which is why it is called cold cutting, and why it is the method of choice on tanks, pipelines, and vessels that hold or held hydrocarbons.
Where does cold cutting beat torches and saws?
Anywhere ignition is a hazard or heat changes the metal: crude and fuel tanks, fuel terminals, refineries, and gas plants. A torch near hydrocarbon vapors costs gas-freeing time and risk; a waterjet cuts a clean, straight edge with no ignition source. In 2022 Dezu supervised a door-sheet cut on a Guam crude oil tank being converted to ULSD service — cut cold, with the terminal operating around it.
What equipment does Dezu cut with?
NLB ultra high pressure pumps up to 40,000 PSI driving track-mounted cold cutting crawlers — the same line Dezu distributes exclusively in the Philippines, so the crews cutting your steel are the people who sell, service, and train on the equipment.
