What is hydro blasting and how does it compare to sandblasting?
Hydro blasting strips coatings, rust, and deposits with high or ultra high pressure water instead of abrasive grit. There is no spent abrasive to contain and dispose of, no dust cloud, no spark risk, and no grit embedded in the cleaned surface — water washes out soluble salts that dry abrasive leaves behind, which coatings inspectors care about before repainting.
What surfaces has Dezu prepared by hydro blasting?
Ship decks and hulls, storage tanks, plant steel, and process equipment. In 2022 Dezu removed anti-skid (ASA) coating from the decks of USNS Big Horn and USNS Yukon, two US Navy vessels.
