APRIS tube inspection in the Philippines
Dezu has APRIS equipment in the Philippines and is accepting enquiries for tube screening and cleaning validation. Acoustic pulse reflectometry examines changes in a suitable tube’s internal geometry from an accessible end. The first step is to establish the asset, the question the examination must answer, and the required analysis and reporting scope.

What can APRIS help a plant team establish?
APRIS is a commercial implementation of acoustic pulse reflectometry, or APR. A sound pulse travels along the air column inside a tube; changes in the reflected signal can indicate changes in its internal cross-section. Applications include investigating restrictions and selected internal-surface indications within the examination limits.
For a cleaning team, the useful output is a traceable record of the tubes examined, indications that require review, inaccessible areas and any repeat examination. For an inspection team, that information must fit its approved programme. A flow test, an APR result and a wall-thickness measurement answer different questions.
When should you consider APRIS?
Consider a scope review when you need more evidence about internal restrictions after cleaning, want a baseline for an upcoming shutdown, or need to assess whether APR can complement a specified tube-inspection programme. Include the previous cleaning or inspection report so the proposed work addresses the unresolved question.
If the immediate question is a leak, outside-surface corrosion, cracking or remaining wall thickness, identify that first. APR is not a substitute for the methods required to investigate those damage mechanisms. A symptom alone does not select an inspection technique.
Which assets and industries may have a suitable application?
The tube construction and examination objective determine suitability. An industry name, tube count or material alone is insufficient. Dezu reviews enquiries from plant owners, maintenance teams, inspection contractors and facilities operators.

What does an APR result not establish?
APR does not directly establish whole-wall integrity, outside-surface condition, thermal performance or fitness for service. Tight cracks may not significantly alter internal geometry. Deposits can obscure other indications, and a complete blockage prevents examination beyond it from that end. Record the actual examined coverage and limitations.
Suitable calibration, data quality and interpretation are necessary. The owner and qualified inspection provider retain decisions about other NDT methods, plugging, repair, retubing and return to service. Do not reduce required examination coverage simply because an APR screen shows no flag.

How can you engage Dezu?
For a full-service enquiry, define the field-acquisition scope together with the analysis, review and final-report responsibilities. Cleaning can be included when required, with separate acceptance criteria. For a contractor-led project, operated rental provides a different commercial route: the equipment accompanies a required operator or custodian, and the contractor’s procedure, customer relationship and reporting responsibilities remain explicit.
Availability, software and licence status, personnel readiness, calibration requirements and the project’s analysis/reporting arrangements are confirmed before mobilization. Equipment possession does not establish operator certification or authorize a particular inspection procedure. No fixed campaign throughput or report turnaround is promised before scope review.
What should the scope and resulting record contain?
Agree asset identification, tube-map orientation, included tube positions, examination objective, access and preparation, calibration/reference checks, acquisition method, analysis responsibility and acceptance criteria before work. Record examined, inaccessible and limited-coverage positions separately.
The deliverable should make indications, repeat examinations, data-quality limitations and unresolved exceptions traceable to the tube map. Identify who interprets the results, who reviews the report and who makes the engineering decision. Define raw-data handover and retention in the quotation.
What experience supports the cleaning side?

What information should you send for a quotation?
Send the site and proposed dates; equipment type and asset ID; tube material, inside diameter, wall thickness and length; tube count and map; straight, finned, bent or U-tube configuration; end access; known deposits, plugs and obstructions; previous reports; and the decision the new examination must support.
Also identify the responsible inspection authority, requested coverage, report requirements and whether cleaning or operated rental is required. Dezu can then review fit, exclusions and scheduling before issuing a project-specific quotation.
Enquiries can start with one asset or a limited tube population; there is no blanket minimum tube count for a scope review. If a demonstration or first-asset trial would resolve an applicability question, describe the objective and available access. Feasibility, readiness, inclusions and commercial terms require confirmation.
Is APRIS the same as APR?
APR is acoustic pulse reflectometry, the examination method. APRIS is a commercial implementation supplied by Talcyon. Brand ownership and manufacturer attribution do not establish a distributor, certification or exclusive-provider relationship for Dezu.
Can you inspect every tube?
A proposed scope may cover all specified tube positions, but examined coverage depends on access, geometry, obstructions and data quality. The report must distinguish successful examinations from inaccessible or limited-coverage positions. No blanket full-length or all-defects claim applies.
Can cleaning and APRIS be in the same scope?
Yes, the enquiry can combine cleaning with APR screening or cleaning validation. Define the sequence, preparation, coverage and separate acceptance criteria. Passing a cleaning check does not replace a required integrity examination.
