What should the application brief describe?
Describe the asset, material to be removed, required finish and access. For tubes or pipes, include dimensions, length, bends and known restrictions. For surfaces, include the substrate and coating or deposit. Add photographs and previous cleaning results where available. This gives the supplier a problem to solve rather than a pressure number to match.
Why do pressure and flow need to be considered together?
Pressure and flow describe different aspects of the waterjet supply, and both influence the system's suitability. A pump's available combinations need to match the selected tool and duty. Why does the hose and tool configuration matter?
The useful specification extends from the pump to the workface. StoneAge's Badger manual identifies pump pressure, hose size, hose length and actual flow as inputs to head and nozzle selection. Its Raptor manual separately addresses swivel pressure rating, inlet connection and head configuration. Which site constraints change the recommendation?
Confirm equipment access, working space, water supply, power or fuel arrangements, and where cleaning water and removed material will be managed. NLB distinguishes diesel and electric units by mobility and jobsite conditions. The relevant choice is the configuration that fits the facility and application, with its operating requirements reviewed by competent personnel. What should a package quotation identify?
Ask for the proposed pump and tooling, compatible accessories, operator arrangement, site provisions and scope exclusions. Include the acceptance requirement for the cleaning task and identify any condition that still needs a site review or trial. Keep equipment capability separate from a promised completion time or cleaning result.
