Road-marking and runway rubber removal.
Remove obsolete lines before a new layout. Remove rubber deposits as part of runway maintenance. Dezu helps Philippine project teams select NLB StarJet waterjet equipment for these applications, including the removal head, water supply and waste recovery.

NLB StarJet SRV-2

01 Start with the surface
What do you need removed?
The material to remove and the surface to keep define the work. Road authorities, airport operators and contractors need different acceptance criteria and work windows.
Old road and parking markings
Review painted or thermoplastic lines before lane changes, traffic diversions or restriping. Identify which markings must go and which must remain.
Runway rubber deposits
Define the rubber-removal area, pavement and grooving condition, closure window and airport inspection requirements. Agree the checks required before reopening.
Intersections and confined areas
Match the machine to turning space and access. A compact NLB StripeJet may suit a location where a truck cannot work effectively.
01 · Existing condition
Obsolete lines remain
Markings that conflict with a changed lane or parking layout need a defined removal scope.
02 · Removal and recovery
Lift the marking. Collect the waste.
A rotating waterjet head acts on the marked strip; recovery collects water and dislodged material.
03 · Inspection handoff
Check before restriping
Accept the prepared pavement against the agreed trial and the new marking system’s requirements.
02 Removal plus recovery
How does NLB StarJet remove markings and rubber?
A rotating waterjet head treats the surface while the system recovers water and debris. The selected nozzle arrangement, working settings and travel speed must suit the actual material and pavement.

One system for the removal and the collected waste
The SRV-2 combines an NLB 225 Series pump, a front-mounted articulating SpinJet arm, cab controls, vacuum recovery and separate water and debris tanks.
NLB lists 10-inch and 24-inch cleaning-path options and a pump rated to 40,000 PSI. These are equipment specifications, not a removal-rate promise for your pavement.
Product basis checked 19 October 2026. See NLB’s current SRV-2 information. Confirm the final configuration and specification in the quotation.
For restricted spaces, review the NLB StripeJet with the project team. Its compact arrangement and optional recovery require their own equipment review.
03 Specify the accepted result
Should you use waterblasting or grinding?
Compare the accepted pavement condition and the complete work package. The cheapest removal pass can become expensive if the surface then needs repair, extra cleaning or another closure.
Waterjet removal
Water provides the removal action. Include water supply, capture of dislodged material, wastewater handling and the effect of the trial on the pavement in the method review.
Mechanical removal
Grinding abrades the marking and can also change the pavement surface. Review the resulting texture, retained surface, dust control and cleanup against the same acceptance requirements.
Agree these points before the production area
- Representative trial. Include the actual marking thickness, asphalt or concrete condition, and any sensitive joints or features.
- Surface acceptance. Define the permitted residue, surface change, inspection method and requirements for the next marking system.
- Recovery and closure. Confirm access, barriers, water replenishment, waste collection and the inspection handover within the available work window.
Neither method should carry a blanket no-damage, zero-residue or immediate-reopening promise. The project team accepts the trial and final condition.
Use the waterjet scope and acceptance worksheet to document the trial, retained pavement, recovery responsibilities and inspection handover.
04 Philippine supply and support
What can Dezu help your team put together?
Equipment and a support plan
Review the application, selected model, chassis and access requirements, parts, commissioning, operator instruction and maintenance support. Dezu’s NLB relationship provides a local point of contact for the equipment enquiry.
A defined specialist work enquiry
If your team needs removal work, share the scope first. Dezu must confirm the suitable equipment, personnel, deployment route and acceptance requirements before offering an execution package.
Dezu’s delivered work includes airport terminal drainage cleaning and robotic railway concrete removal. These are separate applications, not StarJet road-marking or runway-rubber project claims.
Also review public works applications, hydro blasting and waterjet equipment selection.
05 Before the enquiry
What should buyers and project teams know?
Who can I ask about NLB StarJet equipment in the Philippines?
Contact Dezu Corporation at hello@dezu.ph or +63 917 622 3998. Dezu is NLB Corporation’s Exclusive Distributor — Philippines. Dezu can review the application and request the appropriate equipment configuration, supply terms and support package. Confirm the selected model and delivery schedule in the quotation.
Can waterjets remove thermoplastic road markings and painted lines?
NLB identifies thermoplastic and coating removal among its pavement waterjet applications. The marking material, thickness, adhesion and underlying asphalt or concrete affect the result. Provide a representative test strip and agree the removal and pavement acceptance criteria before selecting a production setting or rate.
Will removing an old marking eliminate every visible ghost line?
That should not be assumed. The exposed pavement may differ in colour or texture from the surrounding surface. Agree how residual markings and the finished surface will be assessed, and inspect a representative trial before accepting the method for the full area.
Is a StarJet truck available for immediate rental or contracted work?
Availability is confirmed for each enquiry. This page presents an NLB equipment application, not a claim that Dezu owns a StarJet truck or has completed a StarJet marking-removal project. If you need executed work rather than equipment supply, Dezu will first review the method, deployment arrangements, personnel and project requirements.
Material applications are described in NLB’s accessory catalogue. Use the current model information and a project trial for equipment selection.
